History

Meadville's establishment took place against the backdrop of the dynamic economic transformation of Hong Kong and China in the early 80's. In 1985, the Group's first laminate plant in Hong Kong, Mica-AVA (Far East) Industrial Limited (MAF), was established through a strategic joint venture with The Mica Corporation.

Within a year, we expanded into the PCB business with the acquisition of Oriental Printed Circuits Limited (OPC) and OPC Manufacturing Limited (OPCM), thus providing us with our first production facility to produce multi-layer PCB products in Hong Kong.

In 1989, Meadville became the sole owner of MAF. In tandem with the rapid growth of Meadville, MAF expanded its capacity by setting up new site (M2) in 2005.

As part of our strategic growth plans, Meadville entered into the PRC PCB market through a joint venture in Dongguan Shengyi Electronics Ltd. (SYE) with Dongguan Electronics Corporation in 1990.
